This 160,000-acre lake borders the Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area in south western Kentucky. One of the largest man-made lakes in the world it has over 2,300 miles of shoreline in beautiful surroundings. On offer locally are Boat sales and rental, potoons, ski-boats, moorage, slip rental, fishing guides, accommodation, etc.
Part of the Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area in south western Kentucky, this 58,000-acre lake offers boating, fishing, hunting, camping, wildlife and relaxation. The Recreation Area covers 170,000 acres where visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, golfing, shopping, restaurants, wildlife exhibits, a drive thru Elk & Buffalo Prairie, the planetarium, camping and more.
Lake Cumberland has largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River (except for Niagara). Cumberland Falls is 68ft high and 125ft wide with its world famous moonbow. Around the lake there are extensive cave systems and high rocky cliffs, dozens of natural arches, national fish hatchery, record fishing, wildlife that includes bald eagles, bear & elk, along its 1,200 miles of shoreline.
Dale Hollow Lake
Situated on the Kentucky/Tennessee border, Dale Hollow Lake is the ideal vacation spot. Rent a cottage or group lodging and enjoy boating, fishing or skiing amidst the superb scenic landscape and views of the Cumberland Mountains. Houseboats, pontoons, jet skis and 14 foot fishing boats are all available for rental.
Barren River Lake
This 10,000-acre lake is near Mammoth Caves National Park.It was designed and built by The Louisville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who operate the project to reduce flood damages downstream from the dam. Barren River Lake was authorized under the Flood Control Act of 1938. The dam is about 10 miles east of Scottsville, Ky., on the Barren River, a tributary of the Green River. The drainage area above the dam is about 940 square miles.
Rough River Lake
Rough River Lake covers an area of 5,100 acres. There is an airport with air camping nearby and an 18-hole golf course. Various campsites around the lake. An abundance of water in general area, both surface and underground, has caused solutioning in the limestone and as a result, created a myriad of sinks and caverns. The most important cavern in the area is Mammoth Cave, the largest cave in the world with over 240 miles of mapped passageways.
This beautiful 3,000-acre lake in Spencer County, KY, offers fishing, canoeing, hiking, guided boat tours and cruises. Trail bikes are also available for rental.
The Yatesville Marina, offers everything for boaters and fishers needs, be it houseboat, pontoon, speed boat or jet ski, while on shore, golfers can enjoy challenging play on the park's new 18-hole par-71 Eagle Ridge golf course. The course, built on mountainous terrain, features dramatic views and is part of the Kentucky State Park System's "Signature Series" of golf courses. Yatesville Lake State Park has a variety of campsites to suit everyone, from double-wide sites for two RVs to boat-in, primitive sites. The 2,300-acre lake offers good bluegill, bass and crappie fishing.
